Housing Support for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

The Salvation Army Broadview Village supports individuals with developmental disabilities in established communities across the Greater Toronto Area. Our housing supports promote diversity, inclusion, and equity through employee recruitment, person-centered planning, and strong community partnerships.

Broadview Village is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for lifelong living, learning, skill development, and building meaningful social relationships.

Supported Group Living

With 17 homes, residents are assisted to actively participate in daily routines and household activities. Each individual is supported through an Individual Support Plan (ISP) that outlines personal goals and maximizes opportunities for growth. Staff are dedicated to helping individuals enhance their abilities, improve their quality of life, and pursue their personal goals and aspirations.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Broadview Village currently supports three Supported Independent Living (SIL) sites.

The SIL program is designed for adults with intellectual disabilities who require minimal, individualized support in areas such as finances, home management, and community engagement. Individuals may choose to live independently or with roommates of their choice.

This program is tailored to each person’s unique needs. Staff support is typically minimal (4–6 hours per week) and flexible. Individuals are encouraged to build support networks, engage in their communities through employment, volunteering, or education, and actively participate in their Individual Support Plan (ISP).

Admissions Information

How to qualify and apply for our programs

Booth Supportive Services (BSS)
To receive supports, individuals must:

  • Have a mental health diagnosis from a medical practitioner or clinical psychologist. For the Concurrent Disorders Supportive Housing Program (CDSH), must also be struggling with addictions
  • Have experienced homelessness and been recently housed, or be in the process of being housed
  • Be willing to work with a Caseworker or Counsellor from the CDSH / Booth Supportive Services Program as part of recovery and tenancy planning
  • Be 18 years of age or older
